Ozone Air Purifiers

Ozone air purifiers improve air quality by eliminating many indoor odors that filters cannot capture. Ozone purifiers work by converting normal oxygen (O₂) into ozone (O₃), also known as saturated oxygen. Ozone is highly reactive and breaks down odors and other pollutants by oxidizing them.

Since ozone generators don't employ filtration, often a HEPA filter is also used in the air purifier unit. The ozone generator can also sanitize the HEPA filter in such a unit as ozone is a strong disinfectant at close ranges.

Ozone can be a health hazard above concentrations of 0.05ppm, as per FDA guidelines.
