Air Humidifiers
No discussion about air purification or filtration would be complete without mentioning humidifiers and their role for healthy, clean air.
There is no health difference between warm and cool mist humidifiers. People who live in warmer climates tend to prefer cool mist humidifiers while people who live in cold climates tend to prefer warm mist humidifiers.
The important point to keep in mind with any humidifier is that the unit must be cleaned regularly (like once a week) to keep mold and bacteria from growing in the unit and being dispersed into the air. Some of the newer models however come with a germicidal UV lamp to kill microorganisms.
In general, you should avoid air purifier-humidifier combo units as their performance as generally abysmal. Same apples to whole-house humidifiers that install into your furnace or ventilation system.
