Air Dehumidifiers
No discussion about air purification or filtration would be complete without mentioning dehumidifiers and their role for health, clean air.
Two of the largest sources of allergens in the home are dust mites and mold spores. Both dust mites and mold thrive in humid environments, but neither can survive when the relative humidity is below 50%. If you have a damp home or basement, you may want to consider a dehumidifier.
In general, you should avoid air purifier-dehumidifier combo units as their performance as generally not as good as individual units. Same apples to whole-house dehumidifiers that install on your furnace, but these are getting better, so don't discount them entirely.
